In celebration of its sixth location in the Valley, CiCi's Pizza will play host what they hope to be the world's largest pizza buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at University of Phoenix Stadium. T

he community is invited to attend this free event. More than 300 feet of fresh pizza will be prepared, which is more than 1,700 pizzas and 13,600 slices. Guests can also enjoy entertainment including bounce houses, carnival games, face painting, prizes and more. All activities will take place inside the air-conditioned stadium.

"Creating the world's largest pizza buffet experience parallels our brand's hallmark of providing an extraordinary experience, unbelievable value, quality food and superior guest service,"  said Craig Moore, president and CEO of CiCi's Pizza. "This event will help us celebrate the opening of our sixth location in Phoenix in just under two years. We are excited to literally expand the CiCi's experience for our guests who know us and create the ultimate opportunity for those who have not given us a try."

More than 3,500 guests are expected to "eat like pros" at the NFL stadium. The buffet will comprise pepperoni and cheese pizzas, and six locations throughout the Valley will contribute to the preparation of the buffet. In 2004, CiCi's Pizza established the world's largest pizza buffet at 270 feet, which they are now attempting to beat.

"We are thrilled that Cici's Pizza chose the stadium as the site for this event, and we hope that together we can host the world's largest pizza buffet!," said Peter Sullivan, general manager for Global Spectrum at University of Phoenix Stadium. "They have invited the entire Valley to attend this event, and to enjoy free pizza and beverages as well as activities and entertainment for the whole family."

Parking is also free for the event, and the entrance is through Gate 2.

Founded in 1985, CiCi's Pizza is a family-oriented restaurant serving guests fresh pizza, pasta, salad and dessert, for about five dollars. Since opening its first restaurant in Plano, Texas, CiCi's has grown to more than 600 restaurants in 30 states.
