Missing information appears intentional

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A recent article by Amanda Lee Meyers regarding a Phoenix police officer who was shot and killed by a jaywalker was incomplete. Phoenix police officer Erfle was killed by an illegal immigrant who had been deported. This information was readily reported by other newspapers yet the Daily News-Sun omitted this key information. Was this oversight or intentional? Given the fact that this was an Associated Press byline one tends to think intentional.

Then, there was a silly headline in same edition on page B3, “Fed cut fails to fix housing slump.” The cut was made on Tuesday, this was Wednesday, and it’s bad headline writing and/or reporting to believe the housing market could be fixed overnight.

Somehow I expect better from the Daily News-Sun.
