The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office seeks information about a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted kidnapping/assault that occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Aug. 16 near 99th Avenue and Ocotillo Drive in Sun City.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds and wearing dark clothing. The suspect's vehicle, police said, is described as a dark gray, newer model four-door hatchback station wagon.

Police detectives said the victim was doing yard work at her residence, when she was approached by a suspect, who told the victim he was lost. The victim reportedly followed the suspect, attempting to assist him as he walked away. The woman was assaulted and forced into the suspect's vehicle. The victim sustained facial injuries and an injury to her ear, but was released by the suspect a couple of blocks from her residence, police said.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Maricopa County Sheriff's Detective Cody Morin at 602-876-8915 or 602-876-1000.
