Welcome to our Newspapers in Education site. NIE is part of an national program called Newspapers in Education.
Newspapers have been working collaboratively with local schools for decades to provide teachers, students and
parents with innovative teaching tools and the opportunity to use the newspaper as a living textbook.
NIE's learning programs allow students to delve into subjects like math, science, politics, health, geography,
writing skills and more. Educational supplements, newspaper activities and professional workshops for teachers
are designed according to the state standards for education to complement — not replace — the work done throughout
the year by classroom teachers.
The Daily News-Sun is working in conjunction with the East Valley Tribune to offer educational supplements and workshops.
All newspapers and educational supplements are provided at no charge to the schools by donations and special events of the
Daily News-Sun Subscribers.
For more information on how the Daily News-Sun can become a part of your classroom, contact Cathy Carlson by e-mail
